Project DescriptionFine Art As A Liquid Financial Asset
Heliose is the first real-time solar marketplace, cutting out the demanding salesperson and putting the power of satellite imaging system-design into the hands of the user with quotes from local installers in less than two minutes.
Research, Product Design, UX/UI / 2024
Role: Lead Product Designer, Graphic Designer (Charts and Graphs), Information Architecture
Client: Heliose
Background
Heliose Solar approached us with a desire to elevate the marketplace experience for their customers. The context was this: Solar is saturated by a pushy sales force knocking door after door trying to meet aggressive quotas. The process of getting solar is opaque, frustrating, and confusing. We set out to harbor greater transparency to the process, emphasizing simplicity, speed and affordability.
Brand Attributes
Informed
Give people the info they need to make a smart decision.
Obvious
So simple you would think anyone could have done it. Head smackingly.
Audacious
Big changes need big ideas.
Objectives
How can we show up to a crowded room? Today the process of getting solar is the wild west. People are often sold their system in high pressure situations on their doorstep. Its hard to get multiple quotes; and it can often take months, not minutes.
Strategic Outcomes
Reduce the price of residential solar in the US by 50%
Cut the average 60 days post-sale to less than 72 hours
Concepts
We were tasked with conceptualizing and developing version 2 of the System Designer. This included detailing batteries, federal incentives, a satellite image of the users roof schematic, the relevant CTAs, savings details, and surfacing real-time quotes from local, verified installers.
Information Architecture for System Design 2.0
Concierge
Feature development for a virtual consultation with a solar advisor to answer lingering questions or concerns. This functionality is accessible throughout the site and the information gathered dynamically updates the user’s personal information profile to aggregate quotes.
“Need Help?” Sticky Nav
“Need Help?” interactive is dynamically positioned throughout the site and tip information changes based on the content matter in view on the page.
Connecting to Installer
We applied animations to the screens “in-between” to add a bit of warmth and personality.
